Awards
NJAA is not all about awards, but it doesn't hurt to recognize members who have achieved at high levels.
Bronze & Silver Awards
The National Junior Recognition Program provides an opportunity for young Angus breeders to become nationally recognized for continued achievement. This program is based on activities over a Junior member's entire career. There are three levels of recognition; Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Bronze and Silver Awards can be earned at any age. The Gold Award, however, will be given only during their final year of eligibility as a junior member. Winners of the various levels receive a specially designed pin, cast in the metal of the respective award (Bronze, Silver, or Gold). Recipients of the National Junior Recognition Program Awards also receive local, regional, and national recognition through media and at Angus functions.

Gold Awards
Juniors who have received the Bronze and Silver Awards prior to January 1 of their last year of eligibility as a junior member and are currently in their final year of eligibility as a junior member, may apply for the Gold Award. All applications must be submitted through the members AAA login profile, under the programs tab.
Advisors of the Year
In 1980 the idea of recognizing the tremendous contributions of state Junior Angus Association advisors was started and during the National Junior Angus Show of the following year, the Advisor of the Year Award was introduced. Although there are many advisors who are deserving of recognition, the purpose of this annual award is to highlight the work of one outstanding advisor and extend a special token of appreciation to that person or couple. To nominate someone for this award download the nomination form from the link below. Applications are due March 1st of each year.
OTHER AWARDS
The Angus Foundation also grants additional awards and scholarships through funding opportunities made possible through donor generosity.
Jim Baldridge Outstanding Leadership Award
A $5,000 scholarship in memory of Jim Baldridge is awarded to one outstanding NJAA member each year to be announced at the National Junior Angus Show.
Premier PGS Exhibitor
The PGS Premier Exhibitor award recognizes the top exhibitor in the National Junior Angus Show Phenotype and Genotype Show. Presented in memory of John Grimes, the award includes a $1,000 scholarship. John was one of the creators behind the initial concept of the Phenotype and Genotype Show to bridge the gap between the show ring and production cattle.
Herdsman of the Year
The junior herdsman of the year award honors an outstanding NJAA member who displays elite work ethic, dedication, and skill to prepare their cattle for exhibition.
Supreme Bred and Owned Animal
Established in memory of John and Lucile Patton, a $1,000 scholarship recognizes excellence in bred-and-owned cattle exhibition. The award is presented to the overall Supreme Bred-and-Owned Animal at the National Junior Angus Show.
