Delegate voting is now open for the 143rd Annual Convention of Delegates. The meeting will take place November 16, in Louisville, Kentucky, in conjunction with the 2026 Angus Convention and Angus Events at NAILE. Delegates play an important role in the democratic process that governs and guides the American Angus Association®. They are elected by the membership to represent their respective state or district at the annual meeting. During this meeting, delegates will conduct Association business and elect members to the Association’s Board of Directors.

The voting period for the 2026 delegate elections is open July 17 through August 18. To participate, members must have met voting eligibility requirements by April 17.  Members can check their eligibility status in their AAA Login account by navigating to My Account>My AAA Member Information. Eligible members were able to nominate or be nominated as a delegate candidate by a member who lives in the same herd state or district. Delegate candidates should be highly involved in the Angus business, willing to attend the meeting and able to represent Angus breeders.

At the start of the voting period, a link to the online ballot and a unique pin were emailed to all eligible active life and regular Association members with an email address on file. Physical ballots were also mailed to all eligible voting members. Ballots submitted online or by mail must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. CDT on August 18.

Following the close of the voting period, ballots will be counted by Association staff using a multi-step process that includes several checks and balances to ensure compliance with the guidelines outlined in the Breeder’s Reference Guide. Two members will serve as election observers during the tallying process. This year the Association’s Board of Directors appointed Lori Fink, from Kansas, and Jake Tiedeman, from Nebraska, to serve as observers. Results will be posted to Angus.org in August following a final audit.

Elected delegates will conduct Association business on Monday, Nov. 16, during the Convention of Delegates in Louisville. If a delegate is unable to attend in person, individuals elected as alternate delegates will be asked to attend in their place.

All American Angus Association members, regardless of voting eligibility status, are invited to attend both Angus Convention and the Convention of Delegates. Networking and educational events throughout the weekend will focus on driving The Business Breed forward, together. Registration opens August 1. Visit angusconvention.com for more information.
